Last Minute Christmas Present Ideas!

Left the Christmas shopping kinda late this year? Racking your brains trying to think of something original to give that doesn't involve a gift card, a pair of socks or a bar of soap? Then check out the Whimsy & Juno online shop- full of quirky, fun and gorgeous gifts that won't break the bank! Plus we have flat rate $10 express shipping for all packages so you can get your presents delivered in super quick time for the big day!
Priti NYC's latest range is inspired by the colours and flavours of turkish sorbet. Yum! Even better, they are all non-toxic, suitable for vegans and cruelty free. Truly beautiful stuff. Just $16.95 each. Check out the entire Priti range here.
We all know one. Or are one (I know I am! And you too, Sarah!) Yup, a stationery addict. For they are a breed that can never have enough notebooks, letter sets, stickers, stamps, tape, paper...basically anything that was once a tree. Indulge an addict this holiday season with something from Whimsy & Juno's stationery range, featuring oh-so-quirky notebooks, sketch books, pens, sticky tabs and much much more! My personal fave is the Poketo Notefolio pictured above- it's a spiffy little hybrid of a portfolio, notebook and folder that's small enough for you to take everywhere. It comes with a lined notebook for jotting down ideas while you're out and about, an attached pocket for squirrelling away receipts and other memorabilia and it then folds out to become a portfolio and folder with even more space to stash your important papery stuff. Not bad, eh?

The Poketo Notefolio is just $20. To score yourself extra brownie points, why not throw in an MMMG Grizzly Bear Pen too? It's the perfect cute companion to carry around with you!

Speaking of addictions, being obsessed with collecting anything that could remotely be considered cute is another common affliction within our society. So why not add to your collection with a sweet Baby Jackalope or Baby Squirrel? They will add a much needed dose of cuteness to any room! $25 each.

Books really do make for awesome Christmas presents! Treat the book lover in your life to something they might not normally come across in their bookshop wanderings. We are one of the few proud stockists in Australia of Uppercase Magazine- the magazine for the creative and curious! Chock full of inspiring articles and interviews focusing on crafters, designers, writers around the world, this mag is made for anyone with a love of creativity! ($25). Granny Chic is the latest offering from Tiff Fussell (aka Dottie Angel) and her friend Rachelle Blondel (aka Ted & Agnes) and will bring a squeal of delight to any vintage aficionado or craft-a-holic. It's chock full of crafty projects and tips on re-using those vintage finds, accompanied by some truly gorgeous photography. ($29.99). Did you know that Uppercase also publishes some truly fantastic books too? The Suitcase Series Volume 1: Camilla Engman chronicles the life and designs of Swedish illustrator Camilla Engman. Filled with her whimsical and quirky imagery, this is a must for illustration lovers. ($35).

If you really want to impress someone, jewellery is always the way to go! I mean, who doesn't love to wear something shiny and glittery that they received from a loved one? We have some gorgeously quirky and cute designs in stock from Chocolate and Steel. All of the pieces are handmade in California using recycled materials, so you're being environmentally friendly at the same time as giving someone a fab Chrissy present. We also have some super special designs featuring the illustrations of Boygirlparty and Gemma Correll! Prices range from $24 to $58.

Know someone who is surgically attached to their circular needles? Then give them a Tiny Owl Knits pattern and be prepared for squeals of "Oh my God it's sooooo cute!" Truly the queen of adorably sweet knitting projects, Tiny Owl Knits offers patterns for things like "Sweet Robin Wrist-ees", an "Oh My Bear Jumper" and a "Cupcake Kitten Hat". Seriously, who could resist knitting something so squee inducing? Just $7 each!

Have a wonderful Christmas everyone! May you get some lovely presents and spend the day eating too much pudding with your loved ones!

Makeup Monday: Bumper Christmas Edition!

It's that time of year again...decorating the Christmas tree, visiting Santa at the local shopping centre (hey, you're never too old!), eating way too many rum balls and completely freaking out over what presents to buy your family and friends. Let's admit it, apart from the stress-fest that is preparing Christmas dinner, figuring out what to buy your loved ones is the next most anxiety inducing part of the silly season. That is precisely why I decided to have a special bumper edition of Makeup Monday devoted to picking out the best of the beauty related present bunch. All of the products can be bought online too, so there's no need to subject yourself to the inevitable parking rage that occurs at shopping centres in the holiday season. And no one will blame you for adding a few of these goodies into your own stocking cause hey, you deserve it for all your hard Christmas preparation, right?

Cult nail brand Ciate has finally hit our shores so why not get one of their Caviar Manicure Sets ($36) to spoil the nail-art freak in your life? Or get them a copy of Kester Black's The Hand Book: A Guide to Nail Art ($29.95) which is filled with super-pretty and modern nail art ideas.

A Beautiful Life's Honey'Do Shampoo and Conditioner ($20) are hands down the cutest hair products I have ever seen. Filled with organic honey goodness and no toxic nasties, these will leave your recipient not only with super shiny hair but also have them squealing with cuteness-induced excitement. Lush's Captain Bubblebeard Bubble Bar ($8.90) will make bath time super fun for everyone and is fully on trend with the mo craze too.

Does that title sound dirty or is it just me? Anyways, this adorable Heart Ducky Lip Balm ($4.95) by Natural Products will go down a treat with kids and the young-at-heart alike. Kit Cosmetic's limited edition Glitter Nail Polishes ($15.95) are also the perfect super-sparkly treat to pop into stockings. Grab a few of Lush's Snowcake Soaps ($5.90) as little super-delicious smelling gifts for anyone in the family or those friends who are just so damn hard to buy for.

Can't get enough Chrissy decorations on the tree? Then snap up a few of these pretties! Mecca Cosmetica's Painted Beauty Holiday Nail Baubles ($22) are a super cute gift for the nail polish obsessed. Philosophy's Hands of Hope Ornament ($12) is a handy purse sized hand cream that's also a subtle way of telling someone that they really need to start moisturising those man hands of theirs. Or deck the halls with the Turbo Balm Beauty Ball from This Works ($22). This pretty bauble holds a pot of their famous multi-purpose balm so you can wait for Santa to arrive with your fabulously moisturised complexion.

Nab the tree huggers a Jingle Bells gift box from Lush ($10.95), containing their Dream Cream moisturiser (great for problem skin) and the tasty Snowcake soap. Everything is chock-full of naturally derived ingredients, is suitable for vegans and not tested on animals. Aesop's Geranium Leaf Body Cleanser ($23) smells absolutely divine with the essential oils of geranium paired with mandarin and bergamot rind. This super relaxing and moisturising product is a real winner! For the beauty minded spoil them with Inika's Precious Metallics Gold Collection ($85) filled with two shimmery loose eyeshadows, lipgloss and three makeup brushes. All Inika products are certified organic, cruelty free and vegan friendly. Plus their colour range is gorgeous and on-trend. Total score.

Does your dad/hubby/brother/son/boyf need a bit of help in the grooming department? Then look no further than Kiehl's! They really do make the greatest men's products and one of their best sellers is the Ultimate Brushless Shave Cream ($28). Pair it with the Facial Fuel SPF 15 ($34) and the man in your life is sorted. Plus he can't complain about the totally manly, vintage style packaging can he? Natural Product's Gnome Soap on a Rope ($14.95) will delight any guy due to its plain awesomeness- it's a soap, but it's also a gnome! I think I'll get one for myself actually...

Spoil the makeup obsessed lady in your life with Napoleon's Allure Brush Collection ($139) which features six of his amazing makeup brushes in a super adorable owl embossed pouch. It's expensive but the brushes will literally last a lifetime. Bobbi Brown's Pretty Powerful Coffee to Cocktail Set ($140) will take any working girl (um, not that kind of working girl) from the office to beyond with its two long wearing Cream Shadows, Long Wear Eye Pencil, Lipstick, and Long Wear Mascara, all in a posh looking purse. Bobbi Brown's Pretty Powerful Stories book ($39.95) also makes a fab gift for its handy makeup application tips (where real women are actually used in the makeovers, not models) and for emphasising that real beauty is on the inside, not the outside.

Here are my favourite picks of the latest fragrances to hit the counters (always in time for Christmas of course). Juicy Couture's Viva La Juicy La Fleur ($145) is a delicious floral-tinged-take on the original best selling fragrance. The popular Stella by Stella McCartney ($82) fragrance is currently available in three limited edition Print Collection bottles which would look gorgeous on any dressing table. Nicki Minaj's new Pink Friday ($69) perfume will no doubt appeal to many not only for its scents of caramelised pear, jasmine and vanilla but also for the hilariously egotistical bottle it comes in.

Any men out there, if you're completely clueless about what to get your wife/girlfriend/daughter start at the Clinique counter! You can't go too wrong here as Clinique are the masters of the Christmas coffret. They have a huge range of cute cosmetic gift sets to choose from, from fragrance to skin care. My faves are the Whole Lotta Colour Chubby Stick gift box ($60) which comes with five delicious shades of the cult fave lipcolour and the Black Tie Violets gift set ($95) where you get a quad eyeshadow compact, two mascaras, eyeliner and moisturiser.  Even better, shop online and save yourself the parking rage at the local Westfield!
Two words: Gift Card. Mecca Cosmetica or Kit Cosmetics gift cards will always go down well with those beauty obsessed gals in your life. The cards even come wrapped in a gift box with a free mini nail polish. Sorted!

Are you wishing for anything in particular this Christmas?

Happy Holidays!
